Where we started
TDA Group is an award-winning provider of property and business support services to clients from both the public and private sectors. Based in the South West.
In May 2020, we were delighted to be invited to tender by the TDA for a project combined with Torbay Council, that was to promote Shopping Local and Staying Safe. This was in light of Lockdown 1 restrictions being lifted, and the town centre and shopping outlets being reopened.
There was a serious deadline, and our presentation and commitment to meeting required deadlines saw us win the contract.
During our presentation we had touched on the idea of creating eye catching, fun and friendly, seaside characters that portrayed the 5 key messages that Torbay Council wanted to promote.

The brief
The main message to portray was the Shop Local / Stay Safe message in an eye catching way. The message would be displayed in shop windows, via posters, bus stop posters, floor stickers across Torbay and Bollard covers.
The outcome
We created 3 main characters to promote the message, Steven Seagull, Colin Crab and Olivia Octopus. We were all so excited to see the bus stop posters pop up all over Torbay and they really stood out and made people take notice.

The Campaign moved into phase 2 just before Christmas, and the designs were adjusted to reflect the change in season.
