How much should you invest in marketing?
Every business should invest in marketing to attract new customers, increase sales and beat their competitors. But how much should you invest?
In the simplest terms, your marketing budget should be calculated as a percentage of your revenue. A guideline amount we would suggest is between 2 and 5%, or up to 10% if you are a business that sells directly to consumers (B2C).
For example, if your business is generating £75,000 annually in revenue, 5% of this figure would be £3,750. Broken down, that is just a £300 a month investment. This would make a significant impact on a small business.
